In 2019, the Colorado Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (CSSGA) awarded two students with the Gayle Lyman Memorial Scholarship, Kyndra Tezak and Riley Diederich. Former CSSGA Board President, Gayle Lyman, was dedicated to supporting students pursuing degrees in or applicable to the aggregate, construction management, or mining industries. Gayle’s passion for education and the construction mining industry lives on through his legacy scholarship.
The CSSGA Board of Directors was honored to recognize Kyndra Tezak during the October 16 Board Meeting. Kyndra is a Senior at the Colorado State University – Pueblo pursuing a degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration and is a full-time Drone Pilot at Tezak Heavy Equipment. She plans to use her degree and experience to segue into an assistant project manager position and eventually become the third generation owner and operator of Tezak Heavy Equipment. She will use her degree to bring innovative ideas and technology through evolving means and methods to the company.
Riley Diederich is a Junior at Colorado Mesa University and is pursuing a degree in Construction Management. He plans to utilize his time at Colorado Mesa University to achieve skills ranging from people skills to managerial skills. He hopes to learn concepts and ideas that will challenge the industry and bring further success and proficiency. He will strive to challenge himself throughout his career to improve, adapt, and grow around any challenges that may arise.
Congratulations to both Kyndra and Riley and best wishes for their future success in the aggregate mining and construction industries!
