As we come in to the home stretch of this summer with all the activities both recreational and production oriented, your industry association remains active throughout it representing your interests. Below are a few highlights of events and opportunities the association offers.
Events:
Summer Conference Recap: CSSGA hosted their summer conference in Glenwood Springs on July 18-19 at the historic Hotel Colorado. Jointly with CRMCA we had over 100 members in attendance for networking, golf and a great visit to the mountains. Thank you to all who attended and we hope to see everyone at an upcoming event soon.
This Fall we have our Fall Networking Event on September 24 in Colorado Springs. I encourage everyone to attend this event for some great interactions, networking and support for our association.
Committees:
As we approach mid-year, please consider getting involved in one of the association’s committees. The two highlighted below are great opportunities to get involved:
· Governmental Affairs: The Legislative and GA committees meet to determine where contributions from the ROCK PAC will be most beneficial in the 2024 state races. Keep an eye out as we get closer to the election for a candidate endorsement list provided by the Association. The ROCK PAC is still accepting contributions, please get involved as the 2025 legislative session will have its challenges.
· Regulatory & Environmental: This committee is working on the permitting challenges task force. Looking for commonalities in denied permits and assessing if CSSGA can step in to address concerns of regulatory agencies before permits are denied.
Gayle Lyman Scholarship Update: Each year the CSSGA looks forward to providing the Gayle Lyman to students in Colorado who are earning their education and planning to enter the aggregate related industry. The 2024 CSSGA Gayle Lyman Scholarships were awarded to:
Dominick Castro – CSU Pueblo
Kaylyn Courtney – CO School of Mines
Devinie Lovato – Colorado Mesa University
Congratulations to all winners!!
