Hello CSSGA Members. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Christmas Season, able to spend time with friends and family. With the holidays behind us, as well as the ordeals that come with it, we are ready to focus on the year ahead. Welcome to 2018.
We will begin this year like many others, dealing with politics. This involves the strategy sessions that occur Monday mornings during the legislative session. These occur at 8 am in the Capitol basement, and members are welcome to provide thoughts and recommendations with CSSGA and CRMCA key members, as well as our lobbyist, Totsy Rees. Additionally, the Monthly Legislative Breakfasts are open to members, where various speakers address our group, and provide input on timely topics. These occur the 3rd Wednesday of the month from January through April. This month Doug Vilsack with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources will address attendees. RSVP to Annelise if you plan to attend the January 18 event!
Another critical component of our business involves safety. To assist with this, we will soon launch our new safety training web based platform called the “Mine Safety Institute”. Annelise Shepherd is working hard on the final touches and the Safety Training Task Force is currently reviewing the product. The timing is perfect as companies will be able to use this tool to train miners for the upcoming season. Information will follow very soon.
Lastly, we at CSSGA look forward to a great and exciting year ahead. There is a lot to do on all fronts. If you would like to be more involved or have questions regarding where/how to make an impact, please do not hesitate to contact Annelise or myself. Thank you.
