July 18, 2014 Land Use & Environmental Committee

 Meeting Overview:

• Division of Reclamation Mining, & Safety Update: 
  • Minerals Program Supervisor, Tony Waldron, discussed the uptick in production throughout the state. The Division has noticed an increase and plans to the issuing more permits in the coming months.
• Mined Land Reclamation Board Update: The MLRB is scheduled to tour member company mine sites in the Denver Metro area on July 29. There will be approximately 25 people in attendance.
• New Business:
  • The committee reviewed the latest updates to the COG-500000 permit renewal. Use the links below to view the letters from CSSGA and Wright Water Engineers to the CDPHE:

  • In an effort to create cohesion and understanding between the state regulatory agencies and the industry the committee plans to invite regulatory members to meetings quarterly.
• Old Business:
  • The CDPHE’s WQD has been holding stakeholders on the subject of moving fees out of statute. CSSGA Lobbyist, Totsy Rees, has been participating in the process.
