The Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association (CRMCA) and the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) – CO/WY Chapter are seeking an Entry Level Engineering Coordinator. The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of operations, procedures, and resources to facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency with the associations, as well as provide support for the mission of CRMCA and ACPA.

The Engineering Coordinator reports to the CRMCA & ACPA Executive Directors. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and organized individual who is well versed in technology and has general knowledge of or experience in the construction industry and/or with nonprofit associations.

ABOUT US

CRMCA is a Colorado based non-profit organization representing the interests of Colorado’s ready mixed concrete industry. Founded in 1956, CRMCA maintains a strong voice and presence for the industry on legislative matters, improves the quality of concrete through an extensive training and educational program, and increases the use of concrete through promotional efforts.

ACPA – CO/WY Chapter was formed in 1984 to lead and assist members in market development, technical expertise, design, specifications, construction, and restoration of concrete pavement. ACPA also provides national and local representation, a forum for innovation, and research for the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities for the Engineering Coordinator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordination and Administration:

  • Oversee coordination of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)/ACPA Concrete Pavement Inspector Certification Programs.
  • Oversight includes registration, shipping materials, arranging food service, and invoicing.
  • Provide support and assist leadership, staff, and members in meeting preparation and A/V.
  • Perform administrative work to support engineering and financial teams.
  • Coordinate projects and perform tasks that ensure the smooth progress of association projects and end of month financial procedures.
  • Operate and maintain programs and keep logs and records in connection with performance of duties.
  • Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, reminders, and arranging catering as necessary.

Research and Training:

  • Collaborate with members, governmental personnel, staff engineers, and other stakeholders during meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Proctor and grade ACI and CDOT/ACPA certifications when necessary.
  • Research and develop technical marketing materials through project awareness and understanding.
  • Review and publish technical documents.

Accounting:

  • Enter financial information into QuickBooks Online.
  • Coordinate with program vendors and handle vendor and client invoices.
  • Create budget forecasts for ACI program, calculate total costs, and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Support dues collection surveys and other reporting as required.
  • Collect and maintain documents required for staff, bookkeeper, and accountant as needed.

Communication:

  • Work with association staff to maintain industry communications and promotion including monthly newsletter, website updates and emails to membership.
  • Assemble presentations and proposals as well as compile and create reports to communicate program updates to members and leadership.
  • Record notes, disseminate requests to relevant stakeholders and file updates and messages for record-keeping and reference purposes.

Schedule:

  • Collaborate with association staff to schedule, coordinate and execute technical, educational, and social events.

Data management:

  • Maintain associations’ database programs and systems – MemberClicks, Egnyte, QuickBooks Online – including data input, queries and preparing reports as required.
  • Analyze and organize office operations and procedures such as information management, filing systems, requisition of office supplies, and other services.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with MemberClicks Association Management System and QuickBooks Online a plus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with association staff, board members, and construction industry personnel.
  • Proficiency in reporting, business correspondence, and creating meeting minutes.
  • Competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision in a hybrid office environment.
  • Ability to comply with continuous and multiple deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Commitment to organization, attention to detail, highly efficient and conscientious about thorough follow-up.
  • Able to handle important information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be available to work several nights and weekends throughout the year to attend association events and support the staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree or equivalent experience (5+ years in a professional setting).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel up to 10% intrastate, annually.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

PREFERRED CRITERIA

  • Background in architecture, engineering, or construction OR association management
  • B.S. in civil engineering, business administration, or construction management
  • Interest in obtaining ACI certifications and engineering training and oversight from Professional Engineer(s)

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 annually.
